~ I will see it, when I believe it ~
he keeps saying he cares
to which i always retort…
well, you never show me!
i don’t feel it!
but maybe
i will never see it
until i believe it
i think maybe
we should believe
a whole lot more
maybe we should
err on the side of trust
why do we put up
a tough exterior?
one day it will all break
every color
shall turn to grey
so let’s get hurt
knowing we trusted
rather than barricade ourselves
never knowing
what might have been…
I am sorry to add the note of sadness to this beautiful poetry, but trust as hard as you might, these days it leads to a broken heart more often than not!

That is perfectly fine. Sadness is not necessarily a negative.
Heartbreaks have been happening over the ages and are more painful because of trust.
It is just a preference of what is
less painful to live with…the hearbreak or the what-ifs.

A broken heart has more value to God
For it is in those moments of heartbreak
That those who are broken hearted
Remember God without inhibitions

Yup, better to have loved and lost rather than not to have loved at all :-)

It’s all about battling, and thus defeating one’s ego. Lose the battle and you are doomed. Never even starting, and ending up nowhere.

True Danish, but a really tough battle though…
Thanks for your thoughts.

Trust can clear a lot of misunderstanding, the fear what if I’m wrong is where we get stuck.

You got it right Ranu. Fear of hurting our ego….

Dear Sonya,
What a very nice poem. Thank you for it.
We like very much how you flipped around the common saying: “I will believe it, when I see it.” Flipping it inside out exposes the wisdom that belief can be a wall or a window.
All good wishes,

Thanks Robert. I just read that anonymous quote in a video someone sent me. It was in relation to God, but I extended it slightly…

Beautiful. This sums it up so nicely:

Thank you so much. We lose out when we are left with so many “what if”s.
