There is an unusual amount of rain here. December is supposed to be a hot, dry month perfect for holidays. Instead we are receiving heavy rainfall.
I have today found a goldmine on harmonium notations. It will make me happy to try out different tunes and today’s raag is Raag Megha ~ Rain Melody
O sprinkles of raindrops
Be gentle with us

Until you are no more

Hi Georgina,
This melody is Raag Megh Malhar, originally composed by Tansen the Mughal Emperor Akbar’s favorite court musician. It is said that Tansen could make it rain with this raag and also make lamps light up with Raag Deepak. Whether that is true or not, it is certain that music in its right intensity and arrangement can bring profound effects to us and the atmosphere around us.
Thank you for your lovely comment.

Thank you. You may have “only echoed” but your echo has its own unique pitch :)

I remember this quality of music… you have to open your heart and sing just like the cloud (megha) bursts forth and releases varsha (rain)… With this quality, there spreads clean, fresh, blossoming life…joyous and beautiful!
