This poem is a gathering of my thoughts following the recent Kenyan elections. Fear, frustration, division, celebrations, calls for peace so that we can "move on", move on to what? It is not about the elections, this is an inevitable expression of what we have ignored or suppressed over a long period of time. *** … Continue reading a history, erased
what unheard sounds are trapped within a bubble as she defies gravity reflecting the rays, a proud prism draws attention and when the film that lent her form leaves her, inevitably the bubble dissolves into soundless tears life is short listen! to the unheard sounds around us misunderstandings captivate, dividing the mind with colourful imagination … Continue reading unheard sounds
Silent words carry potent curses Unheard but spoken Unconstrained by language Unreleased anger Incomplete goodbyes
the sound and the fury of suppressed anger hovers behind them smiling eyes I wouldn't taunt her if I were you ...
How do I go back to normality? What is normal, even? Is God ashamed of us? I certainly hope so I hope destiny hadn't planned these events I hope our fate hasn't already been written Into the history books of the future I only hope humans have deviated from the course of humanity Because only … Continue reading RIP Garissa University College Students

A challenge I took part in…Poetry with the letter ‘X’. At the time there were other letters available, but I decided on ‘X’. I had no idea what I would write about, but once the concept formed, the words all flowed freely. A huge thank you to Sakshi for doing a great job on her blog :-)
Here is for alphabet “X”
A Nexus Broken
When friends exchange their status
For lovers, their excitement
has no explanations
they meet in excess
are vexed by each others absence
find any pretext to call each other
words never exhaust their sweetness
their love simply extended from familiarity
romance reaches its climax
the complexities of a relationship
misunderstandings express into anger
toxic looks now replace the earlier intoxication
it all exploded into thin air
nothing left to examine
except the battle of the “ex”es
did their friendship once exist??
