he was already present in my life

but all at once
nights filled up with flowers
like a sprinkling of stars

new paths had opened up
to welcome me
yet i never knew

i was still finding my way
out of the road i tirelessly walked on
believing it would lead
to a destination

but life is not about reaching somewhere
or finding some one

i never knew
that life is only change

through those minor shudders
shocks and temblors,
unexpected tranquility

with those who adore
deceivers, the betrayers

made me who i am
led me where i am

unattentive
unacknowledging
unappreciating
i never knew

i’m taking a moment
if i hadn’t realised your role
if i didn’t recognise the way

whether you hurt me
uplifted me
guided me,
knowingly
unknowingly

i am grateful

looking back,
it was grace
i never knew
that i grew
